Cliche’s; Memorable Messages and the Power Of Humor
I shoot cliche’s. I shoot cliche’s to help businesses
communicate messages for advertising, promotional and editorial purposes,
messages that strike a chord with their audiences, messages that are memorable,
and messages that utilize the power of humor to enhance their effectiveness.
Cliche’s, as maligned as they may be, when properly utilized, can be harnessed
to help give communications deeper and longer lasting impressions.
Ubiquitous, Powerful Communications Tools
Cliche’s are concepts that are so ubiquitous that they are
instantly recognizable, even on a deep subconscious level, to virtually
everyone. Some might argue that they lose effectiveness by over use, but I would
argue that by illustrating them in visual ways that they haven’t been seen
before, and incorporating humor into those concepts, you have a much more
powerful communication tool.
This portfolio is a brief sampling of the many cliche’s I
have photo-realistically illustrated for clients and for stock photography.

From Imagination to Execution
I have been using Photoshop to create iconic stock photos
for over twenty years now, so you may just find exactly what you are looking for
in our library of images. On the other hand, if you know what you want, but it
has not yet been taken from imagination to execution, we just might be the ones
to undertake that assignment for you. Certainly no one has more experience at
shooting and compositing than I do. I may even already have some of the
necessary elements in my own library of “parts” collected from years of both
shooting and Photoshopping. If the necessary parts need to be photographed, I
am experienced at shooting in the studio as well as on locations throughout the
Elephants, Cobras and Lions
I have photographed elephants in Thailand, Cobras in India,
Discos in Buenos Aires, bridges in Burma and wrestling in Mongolia. In my studio
I have shot everything from Lions (they can spray over fifteen feet in distance)
to Reindeer (they stamp their feet when annoyed) to models (they never have the
wardrobe they claim to have). I know from experience that Bloodhounds don’t
like be on their backs, that Tigers “chuff” at you to express friendliness, and
that cat’s are only motivated by food.
