This image of an Indian elephant (well, with an African elephants ears) in the thinker pose is an example of one of those rare, striking images that can stop virtually anyone who views it. "Is that real", they wonder. No, alas, it is Photoshop. I photographed the elephant in Bangkok making sure I had lighting that was soft and flat to facilitate digital constructions. My associate, Stephanie Roeser, did the Photoshop work, and I have to say I think she actually did a better job than I would have! I photographed the background image during a trip to Mongolia. So in this one image we have a background from Mongolia, and Elephant photographed in Thailand, Elephant years shot in San Diego, and Photoshop work done in Sausalito, CA (my studio).
