The idea here was to create a metaphorical image, a picture of money that goes beyond the ordinary to capture a viewer's imagination and attention, and hopefully to instill just a bit of wonder. This photo symbolizes success and wealth, of abundance and plenty, of the end of financial worries and concerns. It can be used in editorial situations to help a reader put a perspective on, or visualize vast sums of money. This vast expanse of cash floating in and about the water, can be used by an advertiser to grab the attention of their audience. Who wouldn't give such an unusual and striking photograph a second and even third look?

Using Photoshop to create imaginative, exciting, and visually striking money pictures.

When visually striking and imaginative stock photos about money are what you require, its Photoshop to the rescue! In this case I had approximately $1,500.00 in one dollar bills which I spread out in various configurations and photographed. Sometimes I layed the dollars out like a carpet, and sometimes formed waves from the money. I also photographed the piles of money with various lighting set ups. I wanted to be sure that I had plenty of options to choose from when I sat down to begin the compositing process. I also had a variety of waves and sky images to choose from. Then it was just a matter of spending two days trying this, trying that, and brushing layer masks in and out.
