Creating A Stock Photo Of The Human Brain

To create create this stock photo of the human brain in action I first photographed a model of the brain. Next I used Photoshop to composite the image with dynamic streaks of colored lights achieved by using long shutter speeds while shooting city lights at night with camera movement. I used adjustment layers to alter the hue and saturation of the complex abstract light patterns. Finally, I used the render filter/lens flare tool to create the small orbs of light throughout the image. The end result is an image that has significantly more interest and impact than just shooting a model of the human brain in a studio set up.
