In times gone by putting one's ear on the track allowed one to detect an oncoming train. This makes a great business metaphor. In business there is an ongoing necessity to be aware of changes, opportunities and risks. While this businesswoman has her ear to the tracks seeking and edge in determining what is coming her way, she is oblivious to a fast approaching steam locomotive. What might be an approaching opportunity might well turn out to be a fatal event. There is a dark humor to this picture that can be used to advertise and promote more efficient and effect products and services that help businesses to understand what lies ahead. This can also be a great photo for editorial uses in both business and in life.

In business it is extremely important to be aware. But seeking to be aware is not the same as actually detecting the reality of what is going on. Humor In Business Concept Stock Pictures

Humor can be a very effective tool in concept stock pictures. This funny photo of a woman in the path of an oncoming railroad train, with her ear to the tracks, gets the point across quickly and effectively and in a memorable manner. In this instance ten separate photos were composited together using Photoshop to create the final stock picture. The sky and distant mountain range were photographed in Mongolia. The empty plain was shot in a Nevada desert. The railroad tracks were photographed in Berkeley, California. The steam and smoke comes from photos taken in an industrial complex. The locomotive itself was a toy train photographed in my studio. I also photographed the model in my studio. Once all the images are composited together we have a concept stock photo about awareness and that uses humor to magnify the impact (pun intended).
