Funny elephant photos are not hard to find on the Internet, but an elephant that can perform like this is pretty rare. I mean, how often do you get to see an elephant carving across the still waters of a lake on a slalom ski and kicking up a huge spray behind? This image is taken from the back of the ski boat giving you an up close and personal view as the huge pachyderm hangs tightly on to the ski rope. This elephant is nimble and athletic...and give credit to the boat as well. It must have a pretty powerful engine to pull that elephant up out of the water!

Creating A Waterskiing Elephant Picture

I created this waterskiing elephant picture using an old photo of myself on the slalom ski, photographing a rope in my studio, and the elephant in Thailand. Photoshop was my tool of choice for compositing the photograph together. I actually used four elephant photos. The head was one, the ears another, and two body shots combined to make of the rest of the big guy. I also had to stretch the frame of the image as well...so a lot of cloning and such. The image took about a day of Photoshop time.
