Picture Of A Lighthouse, moon and sunset with a watchman looking out to sea from the railing in front of the beacon light.

The storm has passed and the sun casts its last rays from under the clouds as a watchman stands atop a lighthouse and looks out to sea in front of the lighthouse beacon. In the distance the full moon emerges from behind the cloud cover and mist. This beautiful lighthouse fine art photo is available as a matted and framed print through Imagekind.com. For me, fine art is something that is enjoyable to look at abd evokes a feeling or emotion that is on some level desirable to enter again and again. This lighthouse moonscape sunset image deals with many emotions. There is the loneliness of isolation, the joy of a beautiful moon and sunset, the majesty and power of nature and the symbolic hope of the lighthouse. By offering so many different emotional cues this image can work for a wide variety of people with each person finding in it the emotion that they want or need to re-connect with. This can be an image of re-birth, of connecting with nature, of seeking, of looking within and of any spiritual quest. The picture could just as easily be a sunrise as a sunset, a beginning or a completion, evidence of man's endurance, or of our impermanence.

Uses For Stock Photos Of Lighthouses, Sunsets, Sunrises and Moon rises.

This lighthouse photo makes a great stock image. It includes a number of symbolic elements; the moon, a sunset, a lighthouse, and a watchman. Lighthouses are always great symbols of Risk, Adversity and Challenge, yet work equally well to communicate Safety, Security and Guidance. These concepts work in a variety of circumstances ranging from financial to spiritual to everyday life. If the image is viewed as a sunrise then we see rebirth, new beginnings and the way forward. As a sunset the photo works to illustrate completion, safety and security. The moon adds a mysterious element and brings potential astronomy messages into the picture. Adding the element of a human brings in introspection, the journey to discover self and themes such as exploration and discovery. The clouds might present the receding of a storm and of turbulent or troubled times, or perhaps the opposite, the approach of storms, difficulties and challenges. Finally, this picture can illustrate the way forward, solitude, contemplation, and getting away from it all.

Creating Successful Concept Stock Photos Of Lighthouses, Sunsets, Sunrises and Moonscapes

To create this concept stock picture I actually used five different photographs. The sunset was photographed in Arizona. The moon, well, I no longer remember where I shot that! Probably near my home in Mill Valley, California. The lighthouse is actually a combination of two different lighthouses; Pigeon Point Lighthouse near Half Moon Bay, and Point Bonitas Lighthouse just North of San Francisco. The man standing in front of the beacon is Sam Diephuis, who at the time was my assistant, but has since gone on to be quite a successful photographer himself. I had him dress up in the yellow foul weather gear, in itself kind of an iconic symbol, in my studio and lit him with studio strobes. With all of the photography completed I used Photoshop to composite the final image together. The final file size was 72 megabytes. This photograph is also excellent for wall decor.
