Creating Photos Of Cloud Computing

Creating imagery to illustrate the concept of cloud computing, and the widespread adoption of such new technologies, is a challenge. I began with the intention of creating an image that can be used to advertise and promote remote computing and communication technologies. Clouds are the obvious metaphor so that is where I began. I have already created images of binary data traveling above the clouds in a cloud computing metaphor, so I searched my brain for other ideas. I remembered an image of a road headed up a mountain side that looked like it was headed into the sky, and the clouds. I pulled that image up and used it for the base. I found another road, stripped it out, and pasted it into the first image. Next I found a picture of clouds shot from the window of a commercial jet. I used that for the clouds going over the road. Finally I found a sunrise image that I incorporated at the end of the road. Voila! A dramatic and positive visual statement about the move to cloud computing!
