Camel Caravans of Rajahstan

Two camels and their handlers, along with four women in Saris, cross the sand dunes of Rajasthan, India at sunset in this stock photo that captures the exotic adventure that is India. All of the people are model released. The sky transitions from orange just above the silhouetted sand dunes, to a deep blue at the top of the frame. This scene has also been captured on High Definition video by Stephanie D. Roeser using a Canon 5d MKII. This is a photo of travel, of vacation in India, and of journeys. This image captures the adventurous spirit of exotic travel to third world countries.

Reggie's Camel Camp in Rajasthan, India

We spent the night at Reggie's Camel Camp in luxurious tents. The food served at Reggie's (Reggie Singh is the owner), was the best we ate during our trip to India. Reggie had a bar named after Lord Mountbatten where he served some pretty potent self-described moonshine while he projected videos of rock concerts. Rod Stewart was a favorite! A French group got up dancing and really rocking-out to Rod's music. It was a great and memorable time...or so I am told. I went to bed early being quite exhausted from our continuous early morning shoots and seemingly endless travel schedule.

Dancers In Saris and Camels Crossing Sand Dunes

At sunset we took four-wheel drive "jeeps" to the dunes for our caravan photography. The weather was perfect. A warm desert breeze provided some movement to the veils that each of the women wore with their saris as they walked with the Camel caravan across the sand dunes. It was a scene out of a movie with all the romance and adventure that one can summon up when one rolls the word Rajasthan over one's tongue! Of course, we had hired the models...local dancers and camel handlers, and set the entire procession up just for our photo shoot! We organized the shoot twice. The first evening was a little overcast and didn't work out that well, but the second evening offered us this beautiful sunset and a wealth of great photo opportunities to add to our collection of stock photos of India.
