Colored light streaks, achieved by long exposures of city lights at night combined with camera movement, are enhanced in Photoshop to create illustrations for technological and scientific concepts. Speed, motion and energy are several of the topics that such photographs can provide striking illustrations for. It generally takes me dozens and dozens of exposures to come up with one that actually provides the beauty and impact that I am looking for.

Cyber space, the Internet, and communications technology are some of the areas of need for illustrative material that these intricate and complex light patterns can apply to. The flowing lines of color create imaginative worlds of motion and energy that actually have a very wide range of applications for. Some of them almost look like musical scores while others fulfill the role of what we imagine streaming data and information might look like. Thus, these photos can illustrate connectivity, networking and online computing (i.e. cloud computing).

New Dimensions, energy fields, and mathematical formulas all spring to mind when viewing the formations of color and motion created by moving a camera during long exposures of city lights at night. I further enhance the effect by combining multiple exposures and further manipulating those using Photoshop. I try to create images that have impact and meaning and that can be used in vertical, square or horizontal formats. I am looking to expand the visual language for concept imagery.
