Ecological Disaster - Cracked Earth From Space. Picture of a destroyed earth as seen from outer space; a visualization of global warming, pollution and environmental disaster. Earth Destroyed And Viewed From Space Covered with Cracks. Picture of earth, seen from outer space in a state of decay and ecological disaster. Huge cracks in the surface as though all the water is gone.

I created this image, this picture of earth destroyed, to illustrate environmental issues such as global warming, husbanding the planet and resource conservation. The cracked earth was actually a drained rice paddy that I photographed in Myanmar. A Photoshop filter was employed to turn the image into a sphere. I pasted a NASA photograph of the earth over the sphere and played with the opacity and mode until I got the desired look. I then enlarged the canvas, filled it with black, used various sizes of brushes to paint in stars and finally pasted in a shot of the moon (photographed with my Canon 100-400 zoom lens at 400mm).
