Shooting Slow Motion Video With A Phantom HD Camera

The Phantom HD camera can shoot video at amazing frame rates. For this project we were shooting HD at 1000 frames per second! We utilized the GVS9000 2XU 444 VTR which allowed us to view the 32 gigabytes captures (four seconds) of output from the Phantom just moments after the capture. The GVS solution also converts the files and color corrects them on the fly, then stores the data on huge raid arrays. It made working with the Phantom easy and efficient. To light the scene we used an overhead custom built softbox with four 2000 watt tungsten lights. We had two 2000 watt lights behind the set and aimed back towards the water to provide the definition and sparkle.
