Crowded Night Club Scene With Dancing People, Loud Music, Colored and Flashing Lights, and the Hazy Atmosphere of a Typical Rage or Club.
It could be a Rage, or Night Club anywhere in the world with people energetically dancing amid the colored lights and hazy smoke-filled atmosphere. In fact, this image was created with elements shot in a night club or disco in Buenos Aires, Argentina. You can feel the vitality, the energy and excitement as the young crowd enjoys the music and commotion. The whole feel is actually very close to the Photo shoot! We rented the facility and hired the regular crew to run the lights, provide refreshments and create an authentic club atmosphere. We had the music so loud it was hard to communicate with our assistants! It was, however, one of the most phone photo shoots I have ever participated in. There were four of us photographing it simultaneously. We had Annabelle Breakey, Heather Hryciw, Paula Zacharias and me. Paula doubled as our producer. We also had a stylist and her assistant, a caterer and his crew, a make-up artist and her assistant, and four photography assistants. Oh yeah, and we hired a DJ as well! I'd do it again in a second!
A Gang Photo Shoot Produces A Wide Variety of Images For Lifestyle and Concept Uses.
The focus of our trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina was lifestyle stock photography. We photographed families, a theater, and this night club extravaganza. In the club we were able to shoot such fun images as mosh pit surfing, dancing couples, romance, dancing on tables, bar scenes, raging, friends having fun together, as in this image, overall scenes of nightclubbing and rage scenarios. One would think that with four photographers shooting at once it would be a problem not to end up with other photographers in our photos...but that didn't end up being a problem at all. We choreographed the shoot ahead of time. We each picked three areas we wanted to focus on and divided the evening into three parts. At each one third time interval we switched places, and it all worked out extremely well. In addition to the ambient light we utilized four ProFoto 7b power packs, with six heads, and several hot lights as well. The resulting images can be seen at Blend Images.
One Approach To Shooting Stock Photos In Night Clubs
To accomplish this night club photography we rented the club and hired about 35 models. We made sure each one signed a model release before the photo shoot started. We also had our assistants and other crew sign releases as well...which meant we actually had over 40 people to populate our scenes with. Gang shoots like this, in which we had four photographers shooting at once, provide a number of advantages. First, the total cost, split four ways, makes the shoot very economical. It cost us about $3,000.00 total...which is pretty amazing for an entire club with over forty models! Of course, shooting in Buenos Aires, Argentina, helps too as the dollar goes pretty far down there. Secondly, in the course of planning and discussing our shoots we helped each come up with ideas and approaches. Thirdly, the logistics, divided three ways, are a lot less time and energy than having one person take care of everything. In terms of our agency, Blend Images, they got a diverse set of photos with many more options than they would have received had only one photographer undertaken the project. This night club photo can make a great background image, provide material for social issues, advertise dance venues or other similar events, be used by DJs or other musicians, and be used for all manner of lifestyle needs. This is an image about leisure time, recreational activities, vital and active lifestyles and just plain fun!
