A Towering Mountain of Garbage, Solid Waste and Debris in an Environmental and Ecological Nightmare Challenge.

I created this towering mountain of garbage and debris to help put a face on the huge challenge facing our society in the handling and management of garbage and waste. Our landfills are facing mounting problems in dealing with our tremendous output of trash. Putting a dramatic visual to this problem can help raise the awareness of people and move them to action to come up with solutions for these ecological and environmental problems and challenges facing us all.

Garbage dumps, trash and sustainable Landfills

To create this photographic testament to our landfill and garbage management problems and challenges, I photographed a series of piles of trash as they were dumped from garbage trucks at a landfill site. I used Photoshop to composite these piles together into the towering mountain peak of this image. This is one of a series of images I am creating to address and publicize the problems of pollution, waste management, and ecological needs of our world. Include are a tidal wave of garbage in the ocean as well as a waterless tidal wave of garbage.We need to find sustainable ways of dealing with our waste and other pollution problems.

A Garbage Crisis In the Oceans and On Our Beaches

We have reached a crisis point in regards to garbage in our oceans and on our beaches. This crisis is not easily pictured in our minds, and therefore easy to dismiss. I hope, with this garbage image and others in a growing collection of environmentally oriented pictures, to be able to put a face on the problems bringing it to the forefront of our ecological awareness and compel people to move into action to address ethical and pragmatic solutions for the problems we face in the effective custodianship of our planet earth.
