Crocodiles Snap Hungrily At a Businessman In a Risky Situation

A float of hungry Siamese crocodiles snap hungrily at a businessman hanging above them from a rope in a stock photo illustrating business risk, challenge and adversity. This man is not only at the end of his rope, but in a pretty precarious situation as well. He is up to his ass in alligators (well...crocodiles). One great thing about this photograph is the combination of a truly frightful situation and yet an overall humor. For one thing, the crocodiles look so eager...climbing all over each other in a bid for that tender morsel hanging above them. Every time I look at this image I crack up! This executive certainly has his work cut out for him.

Photographing Reptiles in a Crocodile Farm in Thailand

I photographed these crocodiles in a crocodile farm in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. You can tell alligators from crocodiles because the crocodiles upper and lower teeth interlock when their jaws are closed whereas the alligators will have their lower teeth hidden beneath the upper jaws. These Siamese crocodiles were quite impressive in their ability to leap out of the water! You could buy a chicken on a stick for 20 baht (less than a dollar) and hang it over the reptiles. They would wait until you started to loose patience...then Snap! One gulp and the chicken was gone. We went through several chickens getting the shots we needed...a small cost in comparison to the cool photos we captured! We were also lucky to have a lightly overcast day...in essence, filtered sunlight which is a very good kind of light if you are shooting images for compositing. As par of the show the alligator or crocodile trainers actually put their heads into the crocodiles's mouths for several seconds at a time...something you simply could not get me to do for any amount of money! When those jaws snap shut their is an impressive and quite audible snap! No thanks!

Funny and Humorous Stock Photos Showing Business Risk and Challenge

There is a huge and ongoing need for images that portray business risk, adversity and challenge, and so I jumped at the chance to photograph these crocodiles for a concept stock photo. I had photographed a businessman at the end of his rope, in my studio, months before, but hadn't found a suitable environment for him. When I saw the crocodiles I knew right away I had found what I needed to complete my image. My model has the perfect expression of bewildered fright for his untenable situation. I stripped out each alligator, no wait, crocodile, and pasted them into position. BTW, using the Photoshop pen tool to strip out crocodiles is a painful process...too much detail! I have to admit, I am fascinated by the kind of random look to a crocodiles mouth and teeth. These creatures definitely have a different kind of beauty!
