Smiles And Happiness

Smiles, joy and happiness are the concepts behind this photo composited together from over two hundred separate pictures of smiles. Each model pictured has a signed model release. The smiles were photographed over a seven year period. "Seven Years Of Smiles" might be an alternate title for this heart-warming image. I certainly find myself smiling every time I look at it! Aside from the photography, the Photoshop time took me about six hours of work to put together. The smiles in this image include people from India, Myanmar, Thailand, Argentina, The United States, Mexico, Brazil, and other countries as well. There are a lot of lips and teeth in this image!

Smiles, Grins, And Smirks

Smile, grin and smirk are about the only words we have for the act of smiling, which I find rather surprising since it is such a huge and important part of the human experience. Sure, we have grimace and sneer, but those really aren't the same thing as a smile, are they? Once we take a smile and put it into action the words become far greater including laugh, guffaw, chuckle, and more. But the simple act of smiling seems to have been left on the short end of the stick when it comes to alternate and precise verbiage!

Types And Meanings of Smiles

The lack of terms indicating types of smiles is particularly surprising when one thinks of all the different types of smiles there are. From the opened mouth gaping smile to the tight lipped mirth-controlling smile to the fake frozen mask of a smile, there are certainly enough kinds of smile to warrant far more precise naming. From an infant's smile of delight and wonder to an old person's closed lipped smile of knowing, why don't we have more options? We have one smile when we are pleased, another when we are overjoyed, and yet another for spontaneous bouts of humor. This smile montage can be used to promote and advertise any product, experience or service that will bring a smile to our lips.
