I personally was a tad afraid to go out on end of that rock! The day before Jeremy Woodhouse was actually jumping up and clicking his heels together, while wearing flip flops, on that outcropping!

Travel photography on Socotra really is more akin to landscape photography. While "travel" subjects such as fisherman, boats, and local people abound, it is really the landscapes that offer the most dramatic and unusual photo opportunities. A "photo walk" on Socotra can be arduous, but rewarding with dramatic vistas and rare flora. Heck, even the Egyptian vultures seem almost tame and it isn't difficult to get within a few feet of them! If nothing else, the island is incredibly inspiring!
